AKOYA: thanks to its folding wings, this airplane can be stowed on a yacht to become the most exclusive Tender on the market. Original for leisure between sea and land, AKOYA flies more than 1300 Km away from a yacht, while keeping a low fuel consumption.
25th-28th February 2009 - LISA Airplanes and Trina Solar To Extend Partnership into 2009
After the first successful collaboration in 2008, LISA Airplanes and Trina Solar continue to pursue and extend their partnership into 2009. Sharing the same environmental values, the two companies join forces to develop the Hy-Bird, an electric aircraft powered by solar energy and hydrogen via a fuel cell.
Recognized worldwide as a high-performance manufacturer of cells and photovoltaic modules, Trina Solar will supply LISA Airplanes with 1,100 monocrystalline cells for the assembly of the Hy-Bird.
The solar cells arranged on the wings and horizontal tail of the plane will recharge the lithium batteries during flight and on ground. These batteries will supply the Hy-Bird with additional energy required for takeoff and for on-board power supply. These different clean energy sources will power the electric motor which is more silent and efficient than a gas engine.

11th-13th December 2008 - the Planetworkshops
LISA Airplanes introduces Hy-Bird project in Courchevel at the Planetworkshops.
LISA Airplanes is going to exhibit its project of ecologic light aircraft, Hy-Bird, at the third edition of the Planetworkshops, held from 11th to 13th December in Courchevel (Savoie), a prestigious ski resort.
The Planetworkshops are a meeting place bringing together decision-makers from diverse fields – business leaders, academics, NGO representatives, political leaders, media— to work together on the serious challenges of sustainable development.
Deeply involved in sustainable mobility, Hy-Bird project has been invited to participate in the Planetworkshops. Vanessa Troillard, Hy-Bird project manager, will be there to show that technologies and innovations used in Hy-Bird can meet this ambitious challenge.
Hy-Bird is a 100% clean and electric aircraft. This airplane works with solar energy stocked in batteries and hydrogen converted into electricity through a fuel cell. To design this futuristic aircraft, LISA Airplanes uses the skills and know-how acquired while developing its first airplane, AKOYA. Thus, Hy-Bird has the same fuselage and aerodynamic qualities providing it low energy consumption.
LISA Airplanes wishes to show how sustainable mobility can be applied to light aviation and will point out those technologies and innovations through a Round-the-World by stages.
LISA Airplanes will therefore demonstrate that performance, comfort and freedom can go hand in hand with "respect for the environment."

24th-27th September 2008 - LISA Airplanes and Danish Yacht announce their partnership at the Monaco Yacht Show
UNIQUE JOINT VENTURE: Superyachts and Planes; landing on water, stowed at sea
Danish Yacht and LISA Airplanes are pleased to announce their collaboration, in the first of their plans to develop new projects and provide additional benefits and initiatives to superyacht owners and captains.
Danish Yacht, a modern superyacht shipyard located in Skagen in Denmark, and LISA Airplanes are exploring the market of combining superyachts and light airplanes, providing what could soon become an essential and unique resource to the global superyacht community.
The LISA ‘AKOYA’ aircraft features folding wings. Each wing is able to individually rotate aft on the airplane, providing easy stowage on the deck of any superyacht. With low fuel consumption, the lightweight AKOYA is ideal for storage on yachts and is able to take off and land on water, by using its specially designed hydrofoil system.
EErick Herzberger from LISA Airplanes, said, “We are very pleased to be working alongside Danish Yacht to design a unique system for superyachts to carry pleasure aircraft.”
“For the future, we have a strategy in place, with our aircraft engineers and designers to further develop our range of airplanes to produce larger aircraft, which can also be used with large yachts. The joint input from the design team at Danish Yacht and LISA Airplanes is already proving these innovations are taking us to a successful partnership.”
Jonathan McDonnell from Danish Yacht, agreed, “We are delighted to be working alongside LISA Airplanes in this new collaboration to bring aircraft and superyachts still closer together. We are constantly researching and analysing new ways of bringing additional benefits to owners and their captains, which are in keeping with the design, aesthetics and functionality of their yachts. This is proving to be an extremely exciting project.”
Danish Yacht and LISA Airplanes are to officially announce their partnership at the Monaco Yacht Show 2008.
