Why a Round-the-World Flight?
Environmental issues have causes and effects on a worldwide scale. The primary goal of the Hy-Bird project is to prove that eco-friendly transportation can become a reality, so it seems essential to exhibit this plane in as many places as possible: A Round-the-World flight meets this need.
Moreover, through this project, we wish to bring together as many people as possible from many different cultures.
Our goal is neither to break a speed record, nor a distance record. Therefore Hy-Bird will fly around the world with around 30 stopovers. At each stop, Hy-Bird will have a pilot from the arrival country on board. At each major stop, in addition to the Hy-Bird presentation and promotion of renewable energies, we wish to highlight local culture and efforts to build a more sustainable society.
The objectives of the Round-the-World
The Round-the-World Tour’s objectives are:
• to carry out an ambitious project that will span the globe and, that will have multiple impacts (scientific, ecological, media, human…).;
• to demonstrate that transportation can be eco-friendly and quiet;
• to spread the idea of sustainable development throughout the world;
• to raise public awareness of the need to act to save the environment (including the promotion of renewable energies, energy saving, and eco-friendly transportation) and, therefore, encourage the transportation industry, particularly that the aviation industry, to use renewable energy;
• to prove that hydrogen use in transportation is now safe and efficient;
• to encourage the development of hydrogen production stations from renewable energy;
• to join the forces of various manufacturers, laboratories, universities, and individuals interested in Hy-Bird;
• To promote the skills of each “Hy-Bird” project partner internationally;
• the ultimate goal of this project is to offer the Hy-Bird to our customers and thus participate in our own way to environmental protection. Learn more about commercialization
