Hy-Bird, an ambitious project

Following its first aircraft, AKOYA, LISA Airplanes decided to take up a new challenge: to create a 100% eco-friendly airplane, using the AKOYA structure as a basis. Called Hy-Bird, the goal of this plane is to fly around the World in stages.

This plane is powered only by solar energy that stored in batteries, and by hydrogen turned into electricity by a fuel cell.

The hydrogen used is generated from a renewable energy source. Therefore, Hy-Bird does not emit any greenhouse gas. Besides, the electric motor propelling the plane is more efficient in altitude but also far more silent than gas engines. More technical info

The Round-the-Word flight will be made in several equally significant stages. The first among these is called Hy-Bird-E
