HY-BIRD: a plane using renewable energy and electrical motors...while, of course, retaining the advantages of the AKOYA and with an ambition of going round the world in stages.
The development of the HY-BIRD is going through a first stage – known as the HY-BIRD-e. This plane, just like the HY-BIRD is based on the structure of the AKOYA.
It will make a first electrical flight, using only batteries recharged through solar cells. This first short flight has the objective of validating an initial technical phase and of the integration of new electrical components. It will also be the first amphibian 2-seat airplane to fly using solar energy.
